This was the stunning scene across the River Avon in Wiltshire this morning as a thick blanket of mist and frost covered Britain.
The freezing conditions and heavy fog in parts of the country reduced visibility to just a few feet causing chaos for drivers.
Several flights were cancelled and trains experienced delays.
But in rural parts of England and Scotalnd, the weather brought stunning glimpses of natural beatuty with a hazy sinrise glistening from the frosted grass.
The fog is expected to clear by the end of today.
