This is the incredible sight of a tomato that looks just like – a rubber duck.
Keen gardeners Eric and Diane Hinchliffe discovered the bizarre fruit growing alongside ordinary looking tomatoes in their green house.
Far from being awe-struck by the oddly-shaped foodstuff, the blase grandparents, of Bourne, Lincs., simply cut it up – and enjoyed it in a salad for their tea.
Retired electrician Eric, 78, said: “At first I thought it was just two tomatoes stuck together but when I looked at it closely I noticed it had a body, a tail, a beak and a collar.
“I grow a lot of vegetables, cucumbers and lettuce but I’ve never seen anything like this before. It was the highlight of the day.”
Diane, 68, added: “I took a picture because it just made me smile. It’s Donald Duck down to a tee.”
