A pervy pensioner who had sex with a donkey and a pregnant horse will be released from prison this week – SEVENTEEN months early.
Sick Joseph Squires, 67, tied a donkey to a tree before having sex with the terrified animal.
Five years later he launched another sordid attack, this time having sex with a pregnant mare.
Squires was jailed for 22 months in May after he admitted two counts of serious sexual offences and two of damaging property.
But three judges sitting at the Court of Appeal on Wednesday agreed to cut his jail term to 12 months.
Because Squires has already served five months of the sentence he will be released immediately.
The judges heard that the traumatised animals were found with rope hanging from their legs after they were tethered to trees near Squires’ home in Braunstone, Leics.
The donkey’s tail had also been cut in the attack in 1999 and the mare had been injured after the assault in 2004.
Vets took swabs in both cases which police later matched with Squires’ DNA.
He was arrested and pleaded guilty to the offences last year at Leicester Crown Court.
Lord Justice Aikens, sitting in the Court of Appeal with Mr Justice Openshaw and Judge Peter Jacobs, said: ”The first offence involved a donkey in February, 1999, in a field near Desford.
”He also attacked a horse in Enderby in March, 2004. These were two very unpleasant offences against animals.”
