A mum has been “let down” by Amazon after she ordered a festive DVD – but received a box of CONDOMS instead.
Mum-of-two Shireen Phillips thought the 24-pack of condoms was a practical joke as she is 34 weeks pregnant.
She ordered a copy of Christmas classic Elf for daughter Isabella, four, who was confused after excitedly opening the delivery.
Isabella turned to her father and said: “What’s this, daddy?”
Shireen, 25, said: “I’ve never had a problem with Amazon before and feel let down – especially so close to Christmas.
“We had promised her the movie to watch on Christmas Eve and it was out of stock so all they did was refund me.
“At first I thought someone was playing a joke on us as I’m 34 weeks pregnant with our third.
“I thought someone was hinting at something.”
Shireen posted a picture of the unexpected delivery on Amazon’s Facebook page. She wrote: “So….ordered Elf blu Ray for my daughter for Christmas Eve and we receive 24 condoms instead!
“Normally I’d laugh about this but not we’ve promised our four-year-old it’d arrive today.”
In response, an Amazon employee named Hal S said the firm would “investigate” why condoms had been delivered.
Another, named Stephanie H, said: “Were we able to find a replacement for the movie? I’m so sorry again for this experience!”
Shireen says the family, from Plymouth, Devon, have been refunded and that there are no Elf dvds left in stock.
She added: “I am very disappointed, I’ve shopped with them for years. To receive that just before Christmas is not nice, but for my daughter to open it was disgusting.
“Amazon only offered a refund and that’s it – no compensation or anything.”
