A promising model has been stripped of her reigning title in a heat for Miss England – because she once posed topless.
Stunning Siobhan Perry, 18, was crowned Miss Every Model at a glittering ceremony last Saturday giving her a chance to compete for the coveted Miss England crown.
But organisers were tipped off after the event that the gorgeous 5ft9in brunette had once bared her breasts in a photo making her ineligible for the win.
The crown and the chance to compete in the Miss England final has now gone to runner up Kayleigh Fay Hewitt, 20, from Sheffield.
Siobhan, from Liverpool, represented the UK at the Ford Supermodel of the world competition in 2009.
She competed in the Miss Every Model competition in Peterborough, Cambs., a heat of the Miss World competition, to win a chance to appear in the televised final.
Editor of Every Model Magazine and competition organiser, Ruth Deane, said that the decision to take away her title had been made by Miss World officials.
She said: ”It was brought to my attention after the event that Siobhan had been in a topless shoot which is against the rules of Miss World.
”There are often sour grapes after these events, so I waited until the next day before confronting Siobhan.
”I said that I had heard she had been in a topless shoot and that she knew this went against the rules of the competition. She didn’t say anything but accepted it.
”As Kayleigh was the runner-up, the title automatically passed to her and she will now go on to compete for the title of Miss England.”
In an official statement released on the Miss England website on Monday, an announcement was made that a new Miss Every Model had been chosen.
It said: ”We are happy to support Siobhan within her modelling career and offer her any opportunities we can in order to enhance her progression within the industry.
”As a fashion model we believe Siobhan has a huge career ahead of her.
”There is no discrimination in respect of modelling genres within our publication.
”However rules are rules and a contestant cannot attend the final of the Miss England competition if they have broken one.”
The 2009 winner of Miss World, Lance Corporal Katrina Hodge, 23, was the winner of last year’s Miss Every Model competition.
She claimed the crown after original winner Rachel Christie, 21, relinquished her title following an alleged nightclub brawl.
The Miss England final is being televised for the first time in twenty two years on the Active Channel (Sky 281).
