Titanic today emerged as the top chick flick secretly loved by blokes.
Publicly, most men claim to hate the epic tear-jerker starring Hollywood hunk Leonardo DiCaprio and ‘English Rose’ Kate Winslet.
But a study found that behind closed doors many will happily sit through the 1997 blockbuster – and enjoy it.
Four Weddings and A Funeral took second place. The 1994 British romantic comedy is one of four films in the top ten to star Hugh Grant.
The BAFTA-winning production follows the story of bachelor Charles as he falls in love with American beauty Carrie after meeting at a wedding.
Love Actually came in third.
Yesterday a spokesman for OnePoll.com, which polled 3,000 men, said: ”Forget the soppy love story, blokes aren’t interested in that.
”But what Titanic does have is some incredible special effects and historical significance, which is probably what appeals to men.
”And don’t forget Kate Winslet is in it too.”
Fourth in the poll was 1990’s emotional classic Ghost, starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore, followed by Pretty Woman at five.
The 1990 film, sees Richard Gere’s high-flying character Edward fall in love with prostitute Vivian, played by Julia Roberts, after hiring her to act as an escort for some social events.
Notting Hill was at six while Bridget Jones’ Diary was seventh.
Classic chick-flick Dirty Dancing was voted in at number eight, followed by Mel Gibson’s What Women Want.
Tom Cruise hit Jerry Maguire completed the top ten.
Other female favourites secretly admired by guys to feature in the poll include ditzy blonde comedy Legally Blonde at 11, musical epic Moulin Rouge at 13 and cheerleader flick Bring It On at 20.
