The Concrete Network is a nationwide business which helps domestic, commercial and
industrial customers order the right mix and quantity of concrete for their specific
application. But The Concrete Network (TCN) isn’t your normal concrete supplier, it’s a
focused effort to provide customers with a market-leading experience from beginning to
end.
How The Concrete Network began
The Concrete Network launched in May 2017, and what began as an idea of a joint venture
between concrete and marketing specialists has developed into a national business with a
growing list of partners.
That initial idea focused on providing a personal approach to every customer, while
delivering a robust and reliable supply service that operates with professional efficiency
for all manner of requirements. In its first year, TCN has developed this service to offer its
customers across the UK same day and next day delivery of concrete, with mixes available
in a variety of strengths and grades.
How does The Concrete Network operate?
Working closely with both customers and network partners, TCN coordinates a customer’s
concrete requirements on their behalf. This includes finding a local supplier to mix and
deliver the concrete on time – and at a good price.
From the outset, TCN kept the sales process short and simple. A customer calls TCN and
discusses their concrete needs. Once a customer confirms their order, it is sent to one of
TCN’s network partners, who confirms the booking and exact delivery slot.
The Concrete Network relies on this close communication between customer and network
partner to ensure everything operates smoothly and to the customer’s full satisfaction.
For the commercial construction market, this operation becomes essential when
coordinating concrete supply between multiple large worksites. TCN helps site managers
arrange delivery of concrete to different locations – and of course, these deliveries could
all involve concrete of varied quantities, strengths and mixes.
One year and counting
The first, formative year for The Concrete Network has seen the company establish itself
firmly. The Network has added over 150 members to its ranks, with partnerships stemming
from across the country – and this number is expected to grow continuously in the near
future.
This growth has led to The Concrete Network making their first office move, which was
completed on 21st April 2018. Their new premises has afforded them the space to focus on
expansion and recruitment, so as to strengthen their services and build a platform for the
future.
TCN also maintains a strong local presence. Early in its first year of operation, the
company partnered with Hertfordshire based charity Herts Young Homeless (hyh). TCN
supports the charity’s efforts to provide young people across Hertfordshire with advice,
care, accommodation and education as they experience homelessness or family issues.
Future plans of TCN
As it enters its second year, The Concrete Network is aiming to maintain the steady growth
of their business. While customers already have access to numerous concrete supply
services, the biggest addition to the business will be the implementation of The Concrete
Pumping Network.
Working in a similar fashion to TCN, The Concrete Pumping Network aims to coordinate
simple concrete pump hire for customers when they’re ordering concrete for their
worksite. It’s another example of TCN’s commitment to streamlining the concrete
ordering process – an approach which seems to be working well so far.
