Lucky Barry MacGabhann can escape to his garden shed more often than most men – after converting it into a fully stocked PUB.
While many husbands retire to the garden shed to tinker with some power tools the 54-year-old has gone one better by building himself a functioning bar.
The dad-of-two spent just one weekend building his ideal boozer – which comes complete with draught pumps, fridges, sky TV and even a karaoke machine.
Barry, a former landlord, has plenty of brewery and bar memorabilia after running pubs across London for 20 years,
And having no other better place to store it all he decided to create the authentic watering hole – over the space of just 48 hours.
Yesterday (Thurs) Barry, who lives in Worcester with his partner Helen, 47, said: “As a former publican, I have collected lots of pub memorabilia over the years.
“My son lives out in America so, when I have been out there, I have brought flags and glasses, and other memorabilia back to put in the pub.
“I like to collect glasses. I ask permission, obviously, but I have collected glasses from across the world for years and they’re all now in the pub.
“It is just a really fun thing to have in my back garden.
“It’s a proper man’s shed I’ve turned into a place I can go and hide.
“On Sunday, I watched the British Grand Prix in there on my Sky TV. I don’t think the missus minds.”
Unsurprisingly, friends and neighbours often pop by for a quick pint with Barry in the 12ft by 8ft ultimate man-cave,
The venue manager added: “My friends bring back memorabilia from across the world. I have flags from America and Australia and so I’ve put them up in the shed too.
“What a better place to store all that stuff than your own pub in your garden shed?”
