A cyclist caused commuter chaos this morning after following his sat nav app – onto the M25.
The man was spotted desperately pedalling on the hard shoulder near the junction with the M3 during rush hour.
Surrey Police apprehended the cyclist and issued him a £50 ticket before driving him and his bike to safety.
He told officers he’d looked for a short cut by using an app on his phone – which had lead him onto the motorway.
Witness Hannah Leonard tweeted: “My usual 40 minute commute to work took an hour and a half due to a cyclist on the m25!”
Surrey Roads Police tweeted: “A male was looking for a shorter route to cycle home from work. Phone app sent him on motorway, so thought it was okay. #50.
“Cyclist stopped and after a long conversation he has been safely removed with his copy of his ticket for £50.”
