Fifteen men who have splashed out thousands of pounds on building innovative games rooms in their homes are competing for the crown of UK man cave champion.
The entries include an attic which have been transformed into an American-style pool room and bar and a garage which has been converted into an amusement arcade.
The winner of the UK Games Room of the Year 2015 will be judged by the public on their creativity, uniqueness and attention to detail of their particular man cave.
More than 1,000 people entered the competition from around the country.
Ten regional champions were selected, along with five additional wildcards to compete for a £3,000 prize.
South East champion Adam’s man pad is crammed full of pinball machines and LED lights while the North West’s Barry has a sleek loft centred on a pool table and hand-built bar.
Massimo’s den in the Midlands features football memorabilia, a table-football machine and a pool table while Les in the North East has filled his room with an arcade, bar and cinema.
Ben in East England stripped out his double garage and created a barn-style man cave with a pool table, dartboard and a bar handmade from wooden pallets.
Wildcard entrant Chris’s den is a more poignant retreat built in memory of his son who died suddenly.
The room is covered in footy shirts and acts as a fundraising hub for Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Andy Beresford, Managing Director of Home Leisure Direct, who are running the competition, said: “We have seen some real hidden gems and the competition has been so tough we had to increase our original number of ten finalists to 15 because we just couldn’t decide between them.
“For many people, their games room is a retreat and there is so much time and effort that goes into making them so.
“Some of the entries we’ve received really are spectacular and many of the stories behind them are equally newsworthy.
“From a space to share with friends and family to a fundraising hub following a family tragedy, we think people will have as much trouble picking their favourite as we did to narrow down the finalists.
