Chris Evans is set to become a grandfather for the first time, he revealed yesterday.
Speaking on his BBC breakfast radio show, the broadcaster announced that his daughter Jade, 27, was expecting a baby, due on December 29.
Evans, 48 – who has been off ill for the past two weeks – then asked for tips and hints at becoming a granddad, before exclaiming he never thought he would become one so young.

“Over the weekend, while I was on my sick bed my daughter rang to tell me I was going to be a granddad,” he told his 9.85 million listeners.
“This now puts me staring straight down the barrel of becoming a granddad at the age of just 48.
“Noah is going to become and uncle as well as little Eli, who is just two, and Tash is going to be a grandma.”
Last September the Radio 2 Breakfast Show host walked Jade down the aisle to wed car mechanic boyfriend Callum at a church near his home in Ascot, Berkshire.
Chris is married to wife Natasha who he has two sons with, Noah, five, and two-year-old Eli.
Jade was born when Evans was just 21 after an ill-fated engagement to her mother Alison Ward.
