Never one to shy away from a challenge, Heston even braved setting fire to the 6ft tall and 4ft wife plumb pudding in front of his stunned audience.
Hungry bystander Ros Gull, 49, from Chatham, Kent, said: “It’s amazing and a bit of Heston magic. It’s great that he combines science with cooking.”
A spokesman for Channel 4’s Heston’s Fantastical Food said: “Each corner revealed something new to eat. It was like a scene from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
