Controversial MP George Galloway has claimed that Al Qaeda terrorists were trained on UK soil by British and American troops.
The Bradford West Respect MP made the claims in his latest YouTube podcast ‘Good Night with George Galloway’.
Calling for a new inquiry into the September 11 attacks, Galloway asserted that “there clearly was a conspiracy” and that “Al-Qaeda are a creation of ours”.
He claimed that Britain financed, armed and trained Al-Qaeda operatives at Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.
The MP said: “I’m not in any doubt that a group of Al-Qaeda operatives entered in the United States from Germany, enrolled in flying schools, learned how to fly planes, boarded those planes, seized control of them and flew themselves into the twin towers.
“The reason they did it is an open question and, for that, we need to go back to the 1980s. Al-Qaeda and its forefathers and the Taliban are all inventions of the United States and Britain.
“Al-Qaeda were only ever in Afghanistan because we helped to send them there. We armed them, financed them, called them heroes and freedom fighters.
“We trained them in Fort William in Scotland. We trained people who later were forces of Osama bin Laden at the special forces military training schools there and in many other places.
“We gave to these Jihadists in Afghanistan fighting the Soviet Union and The Red Army in the 1980s all the wherewithal that they are now using against British and American soldiers in Afghanistan.”

The former Glasgow Labour MP had planned to release his latest podcast in time for the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, but had been unable to record it in time.
He warned: “It just goes to show that if you build a Frankenstein monster, you better read the book right to the end because when you get to the end you realise that it’s called a monster because you can no longer control it.
“That seems to me to be what happened to the Jihadists we sent into Afghanistan in the 1980s.
“It seems to me to be what happened with the Jihadists we sent into Libya in 2012 and 2011 and, it seems to me what will happen to the Jihadists we’re sending into Syria.
“I don’t doubt who carried (9/11) out. It was Al-Qaeda. Al-Qaeda are a creation of ours; a creation that we made on the principle that my enemy’s enemy is my friend .
“Not only did we create these people in the first place, but we have reached for them as a weapon of choice to deploy against our enemies. ”
Galloway rejected the most common 9/11 conspiracy theories, including that the planes which hit the twin towers were really missiles and that the towers had been pre-wired with explosives.
Calling for a new inquiry and blasting the 2004 9/11 Commission’s findings, he said: “I believe that there clearly was a conspiracy and there are many, many unanswered questions. We need to have a proper inquiry into 9/11.
“The official inquiry is so pitifully short of what’s necessary that it has left a vacuum into which all sorts of weird and wonderful ideas whirl.”
Fort William MSP Dave Thompson, who represents Skye, Lochaber and Badenoch, said he would be “amazed” if the allegations are true.
He added: “If George has got evidence of Al-Qaeda training people in Fort William then he needs to give it to the authorities immediately.
“I’d be very surprised, amazed in fact, if there was any truth in his allegations. I’ve not heard anything like it before.
“The area was used to train commandos in World War Two and, with the terrain and the mountains, it is a good training ground.
“But I would have thought the sort of training exercises that Al Qaeda would be carrying out wouldn’t be the kind of things they would be able to do quietly without anyone noticing.
“It’s up to him to say whatever he wants to say but it strikes me he’s making statements to court publicity. I can think of no other reason for it.”
The Home Office declined to comment on Galloway’s claims regarding Al-Qaeda in Fort William.
