Schoolboy singing sensation Ellis Chick is packing in the practice for his live Britain’s Got Talent semi final performance – but isn’t feeling the nerves despite the pressure, his grandma revealed.
The confident 12-year-old wowed viewers with a belting rendition of American classic You Make Me Feel So Young on Sunday gaining the seal of approval from Simon Cowell.
Proud grandmother Diane Heys said the confident lad – dubbed ‘mini-me’ by judge David Walliams – is now in London rehearsing ahead of this week’s live shows.
She said the schoolboy is so excited for the life-changing semi-finals at Wembley that he is hardly showing any nerves.
Proud Diane said: “It has been a bit of whirlwind with all the attention since Ellis was on TV.
“We’ve been on TV and the radio and in the papers. It’s difficult to keep up with it all.

“Seeing him on TV was amazing though. We are so proud. The public seem to really like him.
“The YouTube hits for the Britain’s Got Talent teasers, featuring Ellis, have hit more than 140,000 already, and Ellis is just amazed by it.
“It is so exciting and unbelievable and amazing. I can’t get over it.
“It is tiring and lot to deal with but he is enjoying it all.
“People just can’t believe that a child so young can sing like that. He got positive comments from the judges, and his voice is just getting stronger and stronger. It has been improving a lot especially over he last few months.
“And the public seem to have taken to him too, which is fantastic news. The reaction just goes on and on.
“We are excited for his next appearance at Wembley now.”
Diane added: “Ellis will be going straight back to London today to rehearse. Ellis is so excited for the live shows, he is hardly showing any nerves.
“He is handling the attention very well. He is such a confident little boy. He chats away to everyone.”
Little Ellis had the crowd of their feet during his roaring audition at the weekend, and was even joined on stage by judge David Walliams for an impromptu duet.
He will go up against 44 other hopefuls during this week’s live knock-out shows, when the public will get the chance to choose who goes through to the final.
His teachers at Bristol School for Performing Arts said they reckon their star-pupil is destined for Broadway.
Teacher John Redgrave, said: “Ellis really is a one-off in every way. He’s got the sort of talent that you can’t teach.
“You can develop it but you can’t teach it.
“He’s got a huge personality, nothing phases him, and we are very proud.
“He is a great all-round performer, he has dance lessons as well as singing ones, and I just hope he ends up on Broadway one day.
“What we’ve taught him at the school can only have helped him because it’s all been major stage work.”
