An classic Aston Martin built specially for Sir Paul McCartney is expected to fetch £380,000 at auction.
The pop legend ordered the Aston Martin DB5 shortly before The Beatles’ world tour in the summer of 1964.
Delivered on September 22, 1964, the blue sports car was fitted with luxuries including a black leather interior, chrome wire wheels and a Motorola radio.
But the most unusual option is a Philips Auto-Mignon record player, which was the perfect amenity for one of the world’s best-known musicians.
Sir Paul owned the Aston Martin, which has the registration plate ’64 MAC’, for six years – racking up an more than 40,000 miles during this time.
The Aston Martin DB5 is best known in popular culture as the company car for Sean Connery’s James Bond.

However, Sir Paul McCartney’s model goes without machine guns and revolving registration plates.
Instead, the excitement comes from a 4-litre, six cylinder engine which develops an impressive 280bhp.
With a five-speed manual gearbox, triple carburettors and and independent front suspension, the Aston offers impressive performance with a top speed of 143mph.
The car is going to be auctioned off by RM Auctions at their prestigious London event held in Battersea Park.
In a release from RM Auctions, they describe the Aston as being a “unique cross-section of two giants of 1960s British culture”.
They add: “Few names in modern popular music loom as large as Paul McCartney, while, similarly, few post-war grand touring sports cars generate the excitement and respect of the beloved Aston Martin DB5.
“The Aston Martin is a rare collectable that has been fastidiously restored and offers long-term appreciation as an authentic and truly unique piece of Beatles memorabilia.”
The Aston Martin, which is being offered without reserve, goes under the hammer on October 31 with experts expecting it to sell for between #300,000 and #380,000.
