When a Russian beauty queen with 42-inch pins scooped her nation’s Miss Longest Legs, a British bombshell decided to measure up – and has now stepped forward with legs FIVE INCHES longer.
Stunning Alexandra Robertson, 20, took on the challenge after Russian beauty Anastasia Strashevskaya hit the headlines last week.
Alexandra, who stands a statuesque 6ft 1ins and is juggling the final year of her Musical Theatre degree with work as a professional model, said: “It is crazy – I had no idea my legs were quite that long.
“I think next year they should open Miss Longest Legs up to the whole world, I’d fancy my chances.”
It’s not just her 47-inch legs stealing the spotlight, though – Alexandra, of Blackpool, Lancs., is a 34 DD and fits a perfect-10 dress size.
The beauty’s modelling career began when she entered the Ms Blackpool competition at the age of 18.
She was spotted by a local modelling agency and has gone on to model bridal wear and lingerie.
As a taller model, Alexandra is in demand, especially for bridal wear and said: “I do get some stares and I suppose I do intimidate men sometimes, especially in my high heels, but it’s not intentional.
“I get lots of people staring in the street and if I am dressed up in heels for a night out in Blackpool there will be plenty of comments, but it doesn’t bother me.

“I often hear things like ‘do you play basketball?’ but I just turn around and reply ‘no, do you play mini-golf?’ and we end up having a laugh.”
She added: “The funny thing is that, without my legs – I wouldn’t even be tall.
“The rest of my body is the same size as my averagely sized friends. But you’ve got to love what you’ve got and my legs are a definite asset.”
Luckily Alexandra’s lengthy limbs don’t intimidate boyfriend of two years Laurson Moston, 21, who at 6ft measures one inch shorter than Alexandra.
“He doesn’t mind my height at all,” said Alexandra.
“He did ban me from wearing really high heels when I’m with him, though, because I tower over him then. So when we go out I compromise – and only wear small heels.
It seems that height is something of a family-trait.
Sister Lorna Rycroft, 33, is the same height as Alexandra and mum Linda Robertson, 51, stands proud at 5ft 11 ins.
But it’s not all smiles being a 6ft 1ins model – getting clothes which fit can be a nightmare.
Alexandra said: “When your inside leg is 37 inches getting clothes to fit, especially fashion clothes, is a bit of a nightmare. In fact in Blackpool it’s near impossible – I have to go to Manchester usually.
“But they are there if you know where to look. I do quite a lot of bridal wear photo shoots and I really love that because I can show any worried taller brides-to-be that beautiful dresses are available and they can look
elegant.
“I know how they feel, I’d always worried that I wouldn’t get a wedding dress to fit me.”
Karen Jean Cookson, proprietor of Angels Elite, who Alexandra works for, said: “Alex is stunning and clearly has the most amazing legs which make her really stand out from the crowd but she is also an amazing dancer and model and has a fabulous personality.”
