Three men were arrested today over the deaths of dozens of swans on the Somerset Levels.
Around 40 birds have been found dead near Wedmore, Somerset, in recent weeks – many of them with gunshot wounds from an air rifle.
The suspects, aged 45, 37, and 34, were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and are being questioned by police.
Wildlife campaigners have raised more than £26,000 to catch the culprit after branding the killings a ”massacre”.
