Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has signed a one-year contract extension keeping him at the club until the end of next season.
The evergreen 37-year-old, who has made a record 862 appearances for United and scored 158 goals, made his debut for the Old Trafford club in 1991.
Giggs told the club’s website: “All I’ve ever wanted to do is play for United and I’ve been lucky enough to do that for 20 years.
“It’s great to know I’m still contributing to the team’s success and I feel I’ve got a lot to offer on and off the pitch. This is an exciting time to be involved with so many good young players coming through.”
The announcement put an end to rumours that Giggs would follow in Gary Neville and Edwin van der Sar’s footsteps and retire at the end of the season.,
