A policeman and former paratrooper is set to run the London Marathon on Sunday – with a 40lb FRIDGE strapped to his back in support of the Royal British Legion.
Pete Digby, 39, from Kimbolton, Cambs., was a former member of the Parachute Regiment and current chairman of the Royal British Legion’s Kimbolton and District Branch.
The seasoned runner, who has completed the 26.3 mile marathon before said he wanted to mark this year as it was his last at the event.
He said: ”I have never been a racing snake and the years are catching up with me, so thought it would be nice to do something different.”
