Britain’s first professional Michael Jackson impersonator has appeared in court accused of beating his wife.
Keith Preddie, 41, who was also crowned Britain’s Best Dad by GMTV in 2010, is alleged to have carried out the attack at the family home.
The assault on wife Emma is said to have taken place in Croydon, South London on December 19.
Preddie denied the charge when he appeared before magistrates in Croydon on Thursday and was released on bail for a trial at the court in March.
He was ordered not to return to the family home or approach his wife of two years.
Preddie first performed as superstar Jacko in 1986 and landed a number of TV appearances and top-billings in shows.
Since 2003 he has worked at the Family Centre in New Addington, London where he was instrumental in setting up the It’s Time For Dads support group.
His GMTV award was in recognition to his work with the group and his own family.
