Aintree stages the £1million Crabbie’s Grand National on Saturday 5th April. Forty horses will race over nearly four and a half miles and thirty fences in pursuit of the biggest prize in jump racing.
There is a high quality field this year with the top weight Tidal Bay bidding to become to first 13-year-old to win the race since 1923. Champion trainer Nicky Henderson has yet to win the National and saddles four runners led by former Gold Cup winner Long Run.
The Grand National 2014 begins at 4.15pm and will be viewed by an estimated TV audience of 600 million worldwide.
