A football-mad funeral director is commemorating England’s World Cup dreams being dead and buried – with a range of coffins bearing the ST GEORGE’S CROSS.
The wooden caskets have been built for die-hard fans who still want to cheer on the Three Lions from beyond the grave, despite the team’s die-r performances in the World Cup.
Germany put the final nail in England’s coffin with a 4-1 second round win.
Undertaker Danny Masters, who runs Colour My Funeral in Solihull, West Mids., said: ”We’re thinking of sending a coffin to the headquarters of the FA so they can bury the memories of this year’s World Cup.”
Danny, 40, came up with the idea of football-themed coffins after a string of fans asked him to design them in their favourite team’s colours.
He said: ”We like to give people what they want.
”Loads of football fans like to be buried with their team colours on their coffins.
”There have been two Birmingham City fans, one Baggies fan and one Villa fan since we opened two years ago.
”That’s why we thought it would be appropriate to give patriotic England fans a chance to be laid to rest in their favourite colours.”
Fans can also be buried in coffins bearing aerial views of their favourite grounds including Wembley Stadium.
