Bungling council workers were forced to re-paint a road after writing the word RATAIL near a retail park, it emerged yesterday.
Contractors incorrectly used the letter ‘A’ when they daubed ‘RATAIL PARKS’ on Junction road in Brislington, Bristol earlier this month.
Red-faced workmen were forced to return to the site to correct the mistake after it was pointed out by a member of the public.
A spokesman for Bristol City Council said: ”The contractor has clearly misspelt the word retail. The council has now corrected the error.”
Last month the same council were forced to repaint a stretch of road outside a primary school after painting the word SHOOL in the road.
