X Factor 2010 contestant Katie Waissel may sing on the show for the last time this weekend as the wannabes face a double eviction.
Sunday will see the act with the fewest votes booted straight off, while the second and third least popular will compete to stay in the game with a sing-off.
Blonde Katie, 24, caused controversy when she was repeatedly saved by the judges despite appearing in the bottom two three times.
Angry viewers complained to broadcast watchdog Ofcom this week after her mentor Cheryl Cole refused to vote in the eviction, meaning rival TreyC Cohen was sent home on a majority verdict.
It later emerged that unpopular Katie polled less than a third of the votes TreyC had, and would have been evicted had the decision gone to deadlock.
The incident was the latest drama in a turbulent few months for Katie, who previously felt the wrath of the public when she was put through to the live shows after repeatedly fluffing her songs. Many felt popular contestant Gamu Nengu should have been selected instead.
Katie tried to take her mind off her troubles this week by enjoying a night out in Camden, North London, on Wednesday where she enjoyed a drink with fellow controversy-brewer Amy Winehouse.
An onlooker told The Daily Mail: “It was like a meeting of minds… Amy wandered over to Katie and said hello and good luck.
“Amy’s a massive X Factor fan and both girls go to the same pub, the Hawley Arms, in Camden.”
Wacky Brazillian Wagner could also run in to trouble on Sunday. The Latin lothario is reported to have only narrowly escaped the bottom two places in recent weeks, despite several Facebook campaigns calling for him to win.
A reunited Take That will be performing with Robbie Williams on the results show, along with former contestants JLS and Louis Walsh’s protégé’s Westlife.
It was rumoured that Gary Barlow could join the panel as a guest judge, but show insiders have strongly denied this.
