A poll of 2,000 fans revealed 22 per cent want Cheryl out after her outrageous decision to put through Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel who failed to impress at their auditions at the expense of Gamu.
The study also found Cheryl’s popularity has taken a huge hit in the wake of the controversy, with her rating down from 7.8 out of ten before the series to 6.1 now.
Four out of ten people polled said Cheryl acted wrongly in booting Gamu off.
The Girls Aloud stunner has also fallen foul of boss Simon Cowell and fellow judge Louis Walsh.
The survey was carried out on Monday by OnePoll.com.
