Britain’s most hated woman who was captured on CCTV dumping a cat into a wheelie bin went into hiding today – after she received hundreds of DEATH THREATS from around the WORLD.
The tubby grey-haired woman sparked outrage when footage of her tossing four-year-old tabby Lola into the family wheelie bin was released on YouTube.
Police stepped in yesterday and informally offered the vilified woman protection in light of threats from outraged animal lovers worldwide.
PSCOs are on duty outside the woman’s home ‘to ensure public order is maintained’ if she is identified to the public.
A Facebook page set up by Lola’s appalled owners Stephanie Andrews-Mann, 24, and her husband Darryl, 26, attracted thousands of comments from furious animal lovers demanding justice.
Adam ‘Riichie’ Richardson wrote: ”sum1 should fill the bin with petrol put the old fart init and light it. SHE SHOULD BE KILLED !!!”
James Barratt wrote: ”Thinks we should spray her with BBQ sauce and throw her into a den of lions at a zoo and spend 15hours pointing and laughing as he sing soft kittie warm kittie tear her leg off.”
David Varley wrote: ”Sick bitch. if u done that to my cat I would kill u.”
Matthew Hogg added: ”What a horrible piece of sh*t that woman is id love to break her nose.”
The woman contacted police after reading the comments who visited her and agreed to presence at her home for her own safety.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police said: ”There have been a lot of threatening comments written about her – these could be interpreted as death threats.
”Coventry Police are supporting this investigation and urge the public to leave the matter to be dealt with correctly by the authorities.
”Coventry Police have not arrested the woman because she has not committed a criminal offence.
”The woman is not being given police protection but Coventry Police are making sure that the woman is ok, as they would any other member of their community.”
The middle-aged woman was caught on CCTV stroking Lola outside the Mann’s home in Bray’s Road in Coventry at 7.55pm on Saturday (21/8).
But she then grabbed the four-year-old cat by the scruff of the neck before she threw it into a wheelie bin and slammed the lid closed. She then calmly walked away.
Terrified Lola was trapped in the bin for 15 HOURS before her Darryl, 26, finally found her the following morning.
Footage of the attack was captured by a CCTV camera which the couple use to monitor the front of their home.
Today the RSPCA confirmed they had identified the woman and would be questioning her.
A spokeswoman said: ”A woman featured in cctv footage putting a cat in a bin in Brays Road, Coventry has now been identified.
”The RSPCA is leading an investigation into the incident and will be interviewing the woman shortly.
”Coventry Police are supporting this investigation and urge the public to leave the matter to be dealt with correctly by the authorities.”
At 12.30pm today the Facebook page entitled ‘Help Find The Woman Who Put My Cat In The Bin’ had attracted 6,184 supporters.
This was an awful thing to do – agreed.
But all readers please note that the RSPCA has absolutely no legal authority. None. It's a charity.
”The RSPCA is leading an investigation into the incident and will be interviewing the woman shortly.
The RSPCA's origins are utterly admirable, but the more modern quasi-official uniforms and universal use of the term 'Inspector' are tactics to instill fear. A sort of Animal Liberation Front strategy diluted to 10%. Just enough to stay within the law.
To state that ”The RSPCA …. will be interviewing the woman shortly", implies that they have the right under law. That simply is not true, if the other party refuses to co-opertate.
Please do not think for a moment I am defending the 'alleged' offender. I am not. I own contented cats and a dog and condemn all forms of cruelty. But I am sick and tired of the RSPCA setting itself up to be something that it is not.
I no longer support the RSPCA. PDSA – yes.

Whoever knows how to start a petition, with names and contact info for local authorities, please start one.
Public officials CAN find something illegal about what she did; the assumtion that at very least the cat would have been dumped into the garbage truck would be fact.
The local biggies won't hold up under major public outrage, only to be coddling the psych. They will under pressure convict her of something.
Think of what law they'd find to prosecute a young thug for, if he was caught doing the same thing.
BTW: what the SPCA finds, they turn over to legal authorities; they know the depths of the law because it is their concern, and do not think they ARE the law.
If not for them, flawed though they may be, there would be precious little protection for animals.

Ahh, the genius of the local police strikes again. So a house with the curtains closed and two plastic plods (with sod all powers bar calling 999) stood outside in reasonably close proximity to the address of the offense won't stand out like a sore thumb! As for the fact that she committed no criminal offence its beyond words how patetic the law is today. Lets hope she gets whats comming to her, one way or another.

I hope the police don't give her protection – what a waste of money that would be. Just imagine if there had been broken glass in the bin or worse still if the bin had been emptied by the automatic lifting system. She is a vile character, checked to see if she was being watched then encouraged the cat to go towards the bin. Please don't anyone feel sorry for her …..or what will happen to her because I'm sorry but however violent she deserves it….it has been proven that this sort of sick creature attacks first animals then moves onto children or the weak and infirm. She is disgusting and whoever shields her is no better.

I agree with eli. The UK is incredibly lucky to have the RSPCA and they do a very good job. I live in Greece where atrocities to animals go unmonitored and there is no one to call if you see an animal being abused or neglected. I wish there was such a strong organisation here.

What a despicable woman I have no doubt our liberal minded politicians and judicial system will give her a week abroad to get over the trauma of being vilified and when she comes back she will get a new identity and live next door to John Venbales in nice new house and a life of luxury.

The owner of the cat placed in the bin is reported to have said: "She doesn't come home much, to be honest – she only comes home to eat and the rest of the time she is out and about so we didn't even notice she was missing."
Isn't the owner breaking the law? Don't you have laws in Britain that are meant to prevent these killing machines from roaming devouring birds, lizards, annoying neighbours, and spreading toxoplasmosis?
Obviously the woman was sick and tired of this stray.
That cat is lucky I didn't come across it because as a protector of a wildlife refuge in Australia my motto is "God is Love: Kill Cats"

talk about your wolf in sheeps clothing. Makes you wonder how many other animals may have vanished do to this nasty old bags doings! You watch this video and see the calm look on her(or it's) face and you see the face of pure guiltless cruelty. I think she has a rocky road ahead of her.

So so cruel, she so needs to go in a wheelie bin herself, not before you lure her in and tickle her head though. Definately head first and has to stay there for 15 hours. A wicked woman for sure, bet she also attacks kids. At least we know what she looks like and thank goodness she's been exposed. She can only hide for so long…

That horrible woman has probably done worse stuff, but not caught for it. She deserves to be punished.
Welcome to the 21st century, hag. You'll get what you deserve.

Putting my considerable shock to one side for a moment, this could be considered a display of diminished responsibility, and/or perhaps another example of dehumanisation – there are far more atrocious things done to defenceless animals every minute of every day.
In other words, this is someone with psychological problems.
The act was considered and deliberate (she glances at the camera at one point) whatever the real reason behind this act of cruelty, is it is completely unreasonable.
Excusable because of advancing years – no.
It beggers belief that someone would do such a thing, what a
sad woman. The way she looked around to check that no one was watching proved that she new what she was going to do
was totally unacceptable and cruel. I hope the reaction to this awful act will make her take a long hard look at herself.

I agree with Sue Hayton wholeheartedly.
And in addition to anyone defending that woman – please don't make silly remarks about cats killing wild life, etc… It still doesn't give humans a right to be CRUEL to anyone.
Of course, the woman does NOT deserve to be killed! And the death-threats should NOT be.
We, as a human race, already destroyed so much of nature's balance and the least we can do is to protect and help any being and work towards restoration.
I don't speak out of hatred, but out of reason.
What that woman did – there is no excuse for her.
If I consider myself a human – I must BE one.
'Funny jokes' like Mary B did is NOT human. It's a monstrosity of a sick mind, not funny at all. How can this be a 'mistake'? It's obvious from the video that she did this deliberately and in full knowledge of doing something very wrong. And it's obvious she will give all sorts of excuses to defend herself and minimize the responsibility she should carry.
And why is she walking the streets instead being confined to four walls? Cats have the same right, but they don't put humans in the trash bins, so to speak.
I'm not sorry for this woman in a least. She gets what she deserves, I hope she loses her job for good and experiences some hardships. I wish authorities would look into proper punishment for her instead of protecting her.
Want to keep her safe – lock her up! Maybe then less of innocent beings will be hurt just for fun.
Of course she is 'sorry' for what she did after being caught!
I hope that others like her would get a message too.
We wonder how some teenagers or even younger kids are so violent to animals and humans alike – I guess they are raised by mothers like this woman.
And look at this beautiful face of Lola on photos, who is so trusting and loving. I hope for Lola that she doesn't trust humans other than her owners anymore, it's always safer. And good for you Mr. and Mrs. Andrews that you started this and made it known to the World.
I know that by human laws this woman most probably would not be jailed or so. But I think that next step is for her to be fined heavily and the moneys should go to the wellbeing of animals, or help people who risk their lives to help animals or something like that in UK.
Also to add – I live in Africa and wish as well that we had such strong support for the animals here. But…
I must say that native people around here don't go hurting animals, who might be somebody's pets or strays alike.
So, who is a better human – the well-off female working in a BANK!, or the poor native, whilst struggling for his/her live still sharing with a stray animal hard earned bit of food (I've seen that plenty around here)…

I just can't take my eyes of this last picture of Lola held so gently by caring hands.
Just look at those hands and look into Lola's eyes which speak volumes…
Tell me you don't feel anything?…
The more hands like that in our world – the better we are as humans.

Personally when i first saw the video i thought it was pretty funny. couse i thought CC in CCTV stood for Comety Central, but it WAS funny, if she had gone back to get the cat momentaly after she did it, it would still be funny, but she did so… maybe to read her sins they should make a bin that's proportionetely sized for her that the regular one is for the cat, fill it with proportionetely the same amount of garbage then let her spend "15" hours with any light or food, then leave her in ther for 30 hours, just 2 before she dies without water, then let her go.

I am far more appalled reading the comments than I am about the woman. Some show that there are far more cruel and nasty people in the world than she is. The woman is sick, yes. She needs help. There are many people like her wandering our streets. Many more capable of cruel acts, and by reading some of the worldwide comments, there are many people capable of doing nasty things to other people. These people are far worse than she is! But she does need help because it is not normal to do this. I am glad the cat is ok. Am I alone in seeing that she is obviously mad and needs to be treated, not harmed!

This video has shocked me. The fact that she can just stand there and practically lure this cat to her and to then put the poor creature into a wheelie bin? Did she not think of the hurt that she could've inflicted upon that cat and its owners if that bin was to be emptied and crushed? I don't understand how anyone could harm any living thing, it's cruel and no need for it. As far as i'm concerned, even ants or flies (which annoying as they are) do not deserve to be killed. They are just alive and have feelings and families! So let alone her throwing a CAT in the bin, she's a cruel person. The death threats were unnecessary. Threatening to kill her makes you just as bad and not any better, maybe you should think about that before threatening to take someone's life away from them.

the ” cruel ” postings online are a reaction to this persons actions. When do you pick up a cat and dump them in a garbage bin? No, Andy, you are alone.
All our lives, we were raised to do good, and to contribute to society. Have you come to an understanding on why that is? I don’t do it because my father tells me, I do it because it would make him happy; because i know my father loves me, and I, for damn sure, will never let him down. You are as strong as you make yourself to be. Don’t play the weak card.
