The brother of Manchester United’s latest star signing Wilfred Zaha has been warned he could be jailed for stealing a mobile phone.
Serge Zaha, 30, was arrested after taking Blackberry from a shopper in Croydon, London, last December.
He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday after changing his plea from not guilty to guilty.
Magistrates have now scheduled a psychiatric assessment after being told he had a history of mental health problems.
The “all-option” report means Zaha could face a fine, community service or a custodial sentence.
He also pleaded guilty to criminal damage after he destroyed a copy of the police Code of Practice worth #10 in a police custody suite.
Zaha was released on unconditional bail to be sentenced at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on June 26.
