Where to travel this June: best destinations you mustn’t miss
Holidaying in early Summer you can get some good deals. Here’s four top destinations for you to choose from where you can get a nice cheap deal if you travel this June.
Where to travel in Summer
– Portugal
Portugal this time of year is laden with inexpensive fabulous holidays. You can book your holiday either independently or with an add-on of popular flights with eDreams. Portugal is always a worthwhile destination. It has the appeal of its Spanish counterparts and with the Algarve, has a rugged coastline such as Marinha Beach, near Lagoa or Armação de Pêra. Tourist attractions include the hot Mediterranean climate, Portugal’s safety and its culinary delights. If partying is what you want you should try ‘The Strip’ in Albufeira which has an explosive party scene. You can try out the spa town of Caldas de Monchique too.
– Rhodes, Greek Islands
Rhodes is probably one of the lesser known of the Greek Islands – yet – is still very much in vogue. There are many trips to be taken, but you’d be forgiven for thinking about spending all the time by the sea for the beaches are phenomenal. Pebbled beaches extend through small coves and bays and there are lots of beaches with golden sands – such as Kalithea and Faliraki. The pristine water cleanliness has made the beaches of Rhodes known worldwide. However, there’s plenty of other things to see and do.
Summer trips
Summer trips to Rhodes include visiting Lindos, ancient Kamiros and some amazing natural attractions including springs and mountains, forests and caves.
Where to travel in June
– Malta
Malta is a step away from home that will feel truly special. Don’t miss Valetta, Malta’s citadel capital, the 16th century Unesco World Heritage site which is a European Capital of Culture for 2018. Valetta is being celebrated throughout the year with events galore – including music, opera, the arts, theatre, dance and food stalls. Obviously, there’s plenty of other things to do and see, but diving and water sports are just a few. The diving industry is taken very seriously in Malta, so if you’ve never given it a try – maybe now is the time. Malta’s seas have no tides and not much in the way of strong currents, so a great place to start your underwater journey.
– Costa Brava, Spain
Most people think cheap holidays to the Costa Del Sol are the answer, but the Costa Brava has equally fair prices if you travel this June. Steeped in culture, this region is fantastic for sightseeing. Try out the Cathedral in Girona – or certainly the town itself. Palaeolithic and Neolithic settlements with the remnants of Iberian villages, Greek and Roman ruins are on offer in this region. You’ll also find museums and art galleries laden with Salvador Dali prints. Romanesque art is really quite the thing too. Don’t be fooled into believing that beach holidays for families are not done here – you have an excuse to visit more than 100 of them! Also, peaceful strolls along coastal footpaths are a must. There are plenty of fabulously-authentic fishing villages. The sun in Costa Brava is hot, hot, hot so even in early Summer you’ll likely get your toes very wet.
