Green-fingered officers have created an arresting display of flowers at a police station with a set of hanging baskets – made of constable’s HELMETS.
The official items of police uniform have been adapted into six suspended flower pots and packed full of red geraniums.
Top cops granted permission for the decommissioned helmets to be hung outside Dartmouth police station in Devon.
Pc Rebecca Sutton said: ”We get lots of comments from people passing by the police station.
”They are a quirky and unusual way to display flowers. The helmets are decommissioned so we have permission to use them.”
Local resident June Brady, 62, said: ”The flowers and the helmets look lovely. I think they really brighten up the place.”
