A web design firm landed a dream job – making the site for the UK branch of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant.
Onit Web Solutions applied for the design contract after seeing that the chain – based on the hit Forest Gump film – was expanding in the U.K. and offering a chance to build their online presence.
Their plan impressed the firm so much that it was used with only minor changes as the restaurant opened in Covent Garden, London, in October last year.
‘It was definitely a massive coo for us when we found out that we’d won the design and development contract with Bubba Gump Shrimp,’ said Jon Celeste, Director of Onit Web Solutions Ltd.
‘The launch of its flagship restaurant in London is a major milestone for the already established chain, so to be a part of the brand, even in this small way, was truly mind blowing.’
Jon said those in his team were already massive fans of the legendary film – and jumped at the chance to be part of the Bubba Gump Shrimp project.
They sent a proposal to Bubba Gump Shrimp then had a number of Skype meetings to thrash out final details.
Onit Solutions’ first concept struck a chord with the Bubba Gump Shrimp team and with a few minor tweaks it is virtually the same site.
Jon added: ‘Having been lucky enough to visit Savannah and sit on the Forrest Gump ”seat” and having eaten in several of the restaurants in the US over the years, winning this contract was the icing on the cake. Just like Forrest said ”life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get!”.’
