An Aston Martin discovered in a Jersey barn after it was left for 30 years is expected to sell for £60,000 at auction.
The DBS sports car was delivered to its first owner in 1968 and, two years later, found itself being shipped out to Jersey.
It was regularly used on the Channel Island but in 1986 the owner decided to park it in a barn where it has remained ever since.
The British motor, which was one of just 787 made, now requires a full restoration – but it still has an estimate of between £50,000 and £60,000.
It will be auctioned off on May 20th at Silverstone Auctions’ May sale, which is held at the Northamptonshire race track.
When back in working order, the DBS should be worth in excess of £150,000.
The 4-litre engine will develop around 280bhp and give it a 0-60mph time of 7.1 seconds. It will be capable of 140mph.
Nick Whale, managing director of Silverstone Auctions, said: “This is one of the most exciting barn finds of the year so far.
“Having been left untouched for the last 30 years this DBS certainly needs restorative care.
“But to find an iconic car like this one intact with its original features is a fantastic opportunity for someone to acquire a desirable early car, which is prime for restoration or to rebuild to their own specification.”
