COVENTRY, UNITED KINGDOM, JANUARY 10, 2013:
Terry Butler at home in Coventry. See NTI story NTIPATIENT – Great-grandad and real life Mr-Bump, Terry Butler believes he is Britain’s unluckiest man after having 34 operations, a heart attack and an EIGHT-YEAR infection that threatened to destroy his organs. The dad-of-five has undergone SIX hip replacements and believes he has spent more time being treated for broken bones in hospital than anyone else. Unlucky Terry, 67, even handed over a trophy to thank nurses at the University Hospital in Coventry, West Mids, for devoting so much time to him in December. But remarkably, days after that he was back in the same hospital after slipping in the shower and breaking his knee in three places. Former Coventry City steward Terry was first referred to Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital with hip problems when he was just 18-years-old. Nearly 50 years later the great-grandad has endured six hip replacements, a broken wrist and is currently recovering from a second broken knee.
