Airport chiefs were on alert today after a UFO was spotted speeding through British airspace – on FOUR separate occasions.
The low-flying object has been seen travelling through the sky over Newquay Airport, Cornwall and moving ”far too fast” to be identified as a man-made craft.
Several locals have reported seeing a similar object and believe they could be witnessing the appearance of extra terrestrials.
The object – described as an orange-coloured ‘glowing orb’ – has now been seen on at least four occasions since June.
It was even caught on video by one man, who said the craft was ”silent” as it flew over Newquay Airport on September 19.
The man, who did not want to be identified, said: ”My wife and I saw a bright orange light or flame over Newquay.
”At first we thought it was a balloon or Chinese lantern, but it was travelling so fast, and there wasn’t any sound, so it couldn’t have been an aircraft.
”It travelled from the southwest towards the northeast and it appeared at first to be heading towards the airport, but at very high speed.”
The footage was taken at 9.30pm – when no flights were scheduled – and airport staff say they unable to identify the craft.
Meanwhile, three other residents have also reported seeing a mysterious object over Newquay Airport since June 20.
One added: ”I was watching TV when a bright orange light came across the front window.
I got up and knew straight away it wasn’t a plane or helicopter, as I live under the flight path for the airport.”
Mark Bennett, who has been studying UFOs for 14 years, said the object could be an ”extra-terrestrial craft”.
He said: ”I can’t tell for definite what it is and I doubt anyone else could either. It could be fake or it could be something else entirely.
”UFOs sometimes move and stop and shoot off at right angles, which no crafts on earth can do.
”It could be an extraterrestrial craft. Bizarre as it may sound, this is often the most rational explanation.
”The irritating thing about UFO phenomena is that photos are either too good and people say they must have been faked, or they’re not distinct enough and they say they’re not good enough proof.”
An airport spokeswoman spokesman said it was now investigating after receiving the video footage, taken at 9.30pm.
She said: ”It is extremely unlikely that the object is an aircraft using the airport because there was no flight scheduled that time.
”Unfortunately the footage is quite blurry because of foggy conditions so we are unable to positively identify what it is.”
That’s a weather balloon. Probably.
What’s classic is, as usual, people have the hardest time getting even close to steady aim on their cameras. So sad
