Hundreds of tributes have been paid to Anni Dewani, who was murdered by kidnappers on her honeymoon in South Africa.
Anni and her husband Shrien, who had been married for two weeks, were kidnapped at gunpoint near Cape Town on Saturday.
While the kidnappers released Shrien unharmed, Anni was found dead the next day with injuries to the head and chest.
Since Anni’s killing, more than 600 friends and family, including dozens who watched her marry Shrien days earlier, have left tributes to her on Facebook.
Pal Rajen Shah: ”Having been at your wedding, what has happened is unimaginable and still can’t believe you are not present amongst us.
”Our deepest sympathies to Shrien and every member of both families for the great loss.
”Little Keshvi called you a princess and you truly were a princess.
”Beautiful memories will always be with us. Shrien we are here for you anytime, anyday.
”God give strength.”
Fellow guest, Shivani Pala, described the moment she placed an Indian anklet, or payal, on Anni during the wedding ceremony.
She said: ”Dearest Anni, I had the privilege of putting a payal on your foot at one of your wedding functions.
”You looked beautiful on that day and I remember the way you smiled at me and what you said.
”The wedding was perfect and both families hosted us so well which is reflective of what wonderful people you all are.
”We mourn the loss of a life cut short so tragically and pray that god gives strength to Shrien, your mother, father, brothers, sisters and both the Hindocha and Dewani families.
”May your soul find peace in the special place you have gone to.”
Childhood friend Sunita Patel added: ”Ever since I heard the tragic news this morning I keep thinking back to fond childhood memories in Mariastad.
”Mum was telling me all about the fantastic wedding plans a few weeks ago – I cant believe it, I’m so sorry.
”Thoughts and prayers to the whole family – can’t imagine what they are all going through right now.”
Friend Marziyeh Avalinejad-Bandari said simply: ”R.I.P my friend – will always love you.”
Blessings to your loved ones, and may you rest in Peace.
