Caring nurses at Bodmin Hospital in Cornwall granted a man his dying wish when they arranged for his favourite horse to visit him days before he passed away. See swns story SWHORSE. Cancer patient Frank Keat died peacefully on Monday (26th Oct) night but, last Friday, to his great surprise, his ?ve-year-old horse, Early Morn, appeared on the patio outside his hospital ward. Staff nurse Samantha Russell said it was an emotional time for everyone. “I can honestly say that this is the most memorable day of my career. The emotion was overwhelming and there wasn’t a dry eye on the ward,” she said. “Early Mom is a horse that Frank broke himself and he so wanted to see him again. “Sadly, he was not well enough to visit the stable, so the nursing team came up with the fantastic idea of arranging for his horse to be brought to the hospital without him knowing. “We wheeled his bed out on to the patio where he was greeted by his beautiful horse. “Frank was just overwhelmed and speechless.”
