The Sturge-Weber Foundation (SWF) proudly announces its new Clinical Care Network (CCN) which will replace the former SWF Centers of Excellence. SWF has experienced an overwhelming interest from medical centers in collaboration for treatment and research of SWS and Port Wine Birthmark conditions. Currently, the SWF Centers of Excellences has grown to 23 national centers and 9 international centers, with additional centers currently in the application process. Due to this rapid increase in centers, the Foundation’s Board decided to acknowledge this group of centers as a network for clinical care, resulting in the SWF Clinical Care Network.
The Clinical Care Network (CCN) will provide the comprehensive care necessary for treating adults and children who have a port wine (PW) birthmark, Sturge-Weber syndrome (SWS) or Klippel-Trenaunay (KT). Each Center within the network is staffed by a team of specialists who collaborate in the evaluation and management of each patient. This team approach ensures the individual’s treatment plan is carefully developed and coordinated.
