EastEnders, Strictly Come Dancing and The Only Way is Essex have topped a list of girly shows blokes hate being forced to watch, it emerged today.
One in three blokes reckon they have no choice but to watch shows their girlfriends love but they can’t stand.
Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, How To Look Good Naked and What Katie Did Next also made the list of top TV bugbears.
It also emerged around one in four blokes have to watch television in another room if there is something they want to see on at the same time as a ‘girly’ programme.
The stats emerged in a study of 1,000 men carried out by OnePoll.com.
Yesterday a spokesman said: ”Millions of blokes are having to endure being slumped in front of television programmes they don’t want to watch.
”If they try and scarper it’ll seem they don’t want to spend time with their loved ones, so end up passively staring at the screen.
”It’s good to see a quarter have the courage to make their exit and tune in to another TV in the house in order to save themselves.
”Just by looking at the list, the nation’s men are surrounded by girly shows left, right and centre so they’re increasingly difficult to avoid.”
Other shows to make the top 20 list include Emmerdale, Desperate Housewives, Peter Andre: The Next Chapter, America’s Next Top Model and Friends.
Loose Women, (Celebrity) Four Weddings, Ten Years Younger are also shows men can’t stand as are Snog, Marry, Avoid? Gossip Girl, Coleen’s Real Women and Don’t Tell The Bride.
The study also found the average female watches two hours of television on a week night – half of which blokes would prefer not to view.
