David Attenborough emerged victorious in a poll of 500 London inhabitants and 1,500 adults from elsewhere in the UK, followed by David Bowie and Queen Elizabeth II. Queen Elizabeth II was joined on the list by great-great grandmother Queen Victoria and the last Tudor monarch, Queen Elizabeth I. London diarist Samuel Pepys, influential poet Geoffrey Chaucer and football legend David Beckham also made it into the top 10.
