Telecoms and data firm Maintel oday announced the appointment of Stuart Legg as Group Sales Director to oversee the successful transformation of sales operations in the wake of its recent acquisitions.
Mr Legg had been in charge of sales and marketing at Proximity Communications, where he led successive years of substantial growth.
The company said he is ideally placed to step up and lead the drive for increased revenue for the enlarged Maintel group.
Maintel CEO Eddie Buxton said: ‘Bringing Proximity into the fold marked a significant change in our market position, so that today Maintel has one of the largest, most comprehensive and highly skilled offerings in the market.
‘Stuart’s role, with the support of his team, is to ignitethis compelling proposition with sales success as we target ambitious growth for 2015 and beyond. We believe he’s got all the attributes needed to deliver it.’
Following its acquisition of Proximity in October 2014, Maintel has one of the most comprehensive offerings in the UK market.
It delivers high levels of expertise across many technologies including unified communications, data networking, wireless LAN, firewalling, mobile communications, network services, telephony and contact centres with Avaya, Mitel, ShoreTel, Unify, Palo Alto Networks, Aerohive, Verint, NICE, Genesys, Gamma and many others. Its capabilities include professional consulting, maintenance services, field services and delivery of complex international projects.
Mr Legg said he was looking forward to the new role.
He added: ‘Maintel has a great opportunity to take advantage of its expertise and services capabilities, and to complete its transformation from voice reseller to comprehensive communications service provider/systems integrator by backing up its potential with a big boost in sales.
‘Our strong partnerships – particularly with leading vendors like Avaya – and the increasing market demand for our offering in the enterprise sector, stand us in good stead for pushing revenues into the £50-60m bracket by the end of next year.’
