A teacher claims to have found the “fountain of youth” thanks to an extreme diet which sees him eat almost nothing but TACOS.
Michael Kentros, 52, says he looks ten years younger, is 50lbs lighter and has a better sex life than ever since he began eating 12 homemade tacos a day.
The former junk food addict used to gorge on McDonald’s breakfasts, steak sandwiches for lunch and pizza for dinner, and snack on Cheetos, chocolate and candy.
He ballooned to size XXL and tipped the scales at 250lbs (17.8 stone) and suffered from health problems including high cholesterol and haemorrhoids.
The 5ft7 double divorcee decided to cut out the junk – but keep eating vegetable-filled tacos – due to doctors’ warnings and because he “wanted to date hot women again”.
Michael, of Chicago, US, claims tacos helped him drop two shirt sizes and lose 50lbs to 195lbs in six months – a weight he’s maintained since starting the diet two years ago.
And the best part is that he claims he can still eat pizza and chips so long as he sticks to a diet of 80 per cent tacos and 20 per cent junk – the ’80/20 rule’.
Michael, a substitute teacher at Chicago Public School, said: “I’ve found the fountain of youth.
“There are millions of people out there with degrees and specialisms in dieting and weight loss but it’s me who has found the secret out.
“My sex life is now fantastic – I’ve never had this much action in my life.
“I’m 52 years old and I’m getting women 10 – 15 years younger than me.
“I was sexy in my 20s but everyone was hot back then. In your 50s everyone is bald or fat – there’s no competition so if you can get into shape the world is your oyster.
“The most amazing part is that my doctor said I would have diabetes in a year if I didn’t change my diet.
“I waited this long to make sure this process works and there are no negative consequences.
“Aside from looking and feeling 10 years younger than I did before there are no negatives to report.”
Michael started experimenting with tacos after reading an article about what Mexican fast food chains put in their recipes.
He said: “They had been accused of using only 30% beef in their tacos and the rest was fillers.
“Then it hit me. What if I made vegetables my filler and kept the 30 per cent meat? Then I would be doing what the doctor told me to do.
“After three months of trial and error to get the right vegetables to mix well with the spices and create the illusion of the junk food taste I was craving, it finally happened.
“Anybody who tried it completely flipped out just like I did. They said, ‘It’s delicious.”
His recipe contains around 12 different types of vegetable like broccoli, asparagus, black beans and garlic mixed with lean ground beef, turkey or shrimp and spices.
He says he costs him $30 to make one batch of 2lbs of mix which lasts him four or five days and said the less meat you use “the faster the weight will shed”.
At first he ate tacos for breakfast, lunch and dinner – up to 15 spread out over the day – but has cut down since shedding weight as his body doesn’t crave so much food.
Michael added that he didn’t even have to hit the gym to attain his ideal physique – and instead of lifting weights, walks his dog three miles a day.
He said: “I am a big eater and consume 12 tacos a day plus other food throughout the day.
“The trick is to go from eating 80 per cent junk a day to 80 per cent healthy and 20 per cent junk.
“I have never given up my pizza, chips, or any other guilty pleasure.
“It isn’t junk food but it tastes like it – that’s the magic.”
