These stunning pictures were put together by a group of climbers – using torches, headlights and flares.
Daniel Arnold and Stephan Siegrist worked with climbing photographer Thomas Senf to create the unique images in Eidfjord, northern Norway.
The town, three hours east of the city of Bergen, is famous for the large number of icefalls (frozen waterfalls) which are more than 1,640 ft long.
Hours of preparation was needed to carefully fix lamps in the ice using elaborate rope constructions connected by 2,296 ft of electric cable.
Thomas Senf and his team’s goal was to portray the reflective ice and moving shadows combined with coloured lights to create images that appear to be from another world.
The photographer said: “Photography and filming at night is a big challenge. The right lighting determines whether you succeed or fail.”
