These stunning images show a squadron of Red Arrows flying in perfect formation as they hurtle through the air at 300mph over famous northern landmarks.
Flying in a perfect V-formation, just six to eight feet apart, the nine members of the aerobatic team were captured flying above the Humber Bridge, East Yorks., Newcastle United’s St. James’ Park and the seaside town of Whitby, North Yorks.
The squadron had travelled from Farnborough, Hamps., to take part in a display for the Great North Run.
Passing back to their based at RAF Scrampton, Lincs., the planes took in the sights of the south bank of the Humber for the Barton Carnival.
Adam Fletcher, one of the Red Arrows’ three photographers, said: “Being such an impressive and large landmark, together with the light at the time, made the Humber Bridge a wonderful backdrop for a picture of the Red Arrows as the team transited over East Yorkshire on our way home.”
Adam took the pictures from the backseat of Red 7 on the way north and from Red 11 on the return to base.
