A struggling church is livening up its Sunday morning Christian service by holding sermons in the local PUB.
Church leaders took drastic action after the flock at the 800-year-old Holy Trinity Church, in Woolstone, Milton Keynes, Bucks., dwindled to just 10 followers earlier this year.
Since choosing to hold prayers, hymns and bible readings in the next door pub The Cross Keys every other Sunday morning the CofE congregation has tripled in just five months.
Rev James Whysall, 75, said: ”We thought we should take the church to the local people and where better than the local pub.
“Everybody gets involved in the service and the great thing is afterwards we can go to the bar.”
