This hapless Harris Hawk had to be rescued by firefighters – after getting stuck in a tree.
A rope attached to the bird’s leg became tangled in the branches of a 66ft tall oak in Hartpury, Glos.
Six firefighters and RSPCA officials spent nearly an hour releasing the hawk on Saturday afternoon.
The bird was not injured and was handed back to its grateful owner after being brought down by a rope rescue crew.
A spokeswoman for Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service said: ”We received a call from the owner of a bird of prey that had escaped and become trapped in a large tree 20 metres above the ground.
”The bird was not injured and was rescued by the fire service. The harris hawk has been handed back to its grateful owner.”
