A unique Range Rover Sport customised by Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is for sale – on Auto Trader.
Car-loving Gerrard, 30, was one of a host of England players including Wayne Rooney and John Terry who bought Range Rovers modified by British company Overfinch last year.
The midfield talisman – who buys a new Range Rover every year – opted to have his shirt number, 8, imprinted on various parts of the car’s interior.
He also specified a set of special edition alloy wheels, beating his England teammates to get set number one of just 25.
Gerrard paid more than £80,000 for the jet black motor and, after owning it for one year, has passed it on to Cheshire dealer AB Motors who is selling it for £68,000.
But despite making a sizable loss on the 4×4, the £100,000-a-week star hasn’t lost any sleep after a source said he’s gone out and bought ANOTHER Range Rover.
However, he may have some problems this time next year if he want another Overfinch with the British tuner having just been put into administration.
In the car’s advert, AB Motors, which sold one of Gerrard’s cars last year, doesn’t hold back on describing the motor. It states: ‘This car was owned by possibly the best footballer to ever come out of Merseyside.
‘He will become a legend for his club and country – your chance to own a part of footballing history.’
The gas-guzzling 4×4 is fitted with a powerful V8 diesel engine which has 472lb of torque – more than a Ferrari 458 Italia. However, the car’s three-ton weight means it’s only capable of 130mph – albeit in absolute luxury.
On top of the custom touches, the Range Rover Sport has all the luxuries you’d expect from a professional footballer’s car including a full cream leather interior and a parking camera.
Previous celebrity-owned cars to appear on the motoring website include Wayne Rooney’s Mini, Frank Sinatra’s Chrysler and a handful of vehicles previously belonging to David Beckham.
And a few month back an Argentinian dealer was trying to cash in on Diego Maradona’s name – offering the legend’s old Porsche for £320,000, 160 times the car’s value.
