Sir Richard Branson took to the waves yesterday to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest parade of kite surfers.
The seasoned surfer was joined by 317 fellow water lovers who completed a one-mile course off the coast of Hayling Island in Hampshire.
Dubbed the Virgin Kitesurfing Armada, the troupe sailed into the record books before riding 46 miles down the coast to Lancing, near Worthing.

The 63-year-old billionaire donned dark specs to take part in the fundraising stunt to raise cash for his own charity Virgin Unite, as well as Snow-Camp and the RNLI.
Before heading into the water Sir Richard said: “I’m passionate about kite surfing and I think this is going to be a fantastic and fun event in support of some great causes.”
No stranger to the sport, the business magnate holds the world record for the oldest person to kite surf across the English Channel, which he achieved last summer.
