Fears were growing last night for missing Sian O’Callaghan who was last seen leaving a nightclub almost 48 hours ago.
Sian, 22, vanished after she left Suju nightclub in Swindon, Wilts., at around 2.50am on Saturday morning and has not been heard from since.
Her frantic family have described her disappearance as “completely out of character” and her friends have launched an internet campaign to help track her down.
Wiltshire Police assigned a specialist team of officers to look into her disappearance yesterday and made a direct appeal to the slim brunette to come forward.
Ch Insp Mike Jones said Sian had never not returned from a night out before and her family were ”extremely worried”.
He said: “For Sian not to return home after a night out and not make any contact with family or friends is not only unusual for her but is something that she has never done before.
”Sian doesn’t appear to have any reason in her personal life that would indicate that she might want to leave the area and she is normally an avid Facebook user but has not used her account since earlier in the day on Friday.
”Sian’s family are extremely worried about her and we are offering them our full support.
”Members of the community are likely to notice increased police presence in Swindon as officers conduct their enquiries and specialist teams carry out searches.
”I’d like to reassure the public that we are conducting a thorough investigation into Sian’s disappearance and that we have a team of highly trained officers working on the enquiry.
”It is very important that anyone who knows of Sian’s whereabouts or of any reason for her not to stay away contacts us immediately.
”I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal directly to Sian and ask her to make contact with her family or police to let us know that she is okay.”
Sian, who is listed as in a relationship on Facebook with boyfriend Kevin Reape, was last seen leaving the popular Suju nightclub on Swindon’s High Street at 2.50am.
But she did not return home to Groundwell Road, Swindon, where it is believed the young couple live.
More than 950 people had joined a Facebook group to help find her yesterday as pals said they were praying she returned home safe.
Friend Elly Styles wrote: ”Hope you come home safe, everyone is so worried please come home.
”Love and thoughts are with you.”
Another friend added: ”I really hope Sian is found safe and comes home soon. my thoughts go to her family and friends cus (sic) i no they are all worried sick.”
Sian, an avid Facebook user, has not used her account since Friday.
On March 15, at 10:02pm she posted that she was ”looking forward to a fun filled weekend”.
Sian is described as white, 5’3″ tall, of medium build with brown asymmetric hair and green eyes.
When last seen she was wearing a grey dress, black bolero style jacket, dark coloured tights and flat boots.
She was carrying a dark handbag which had a beige flower attached.

I live very locally to the forest and would happily volunteer some time to help search. Does anyone know who I contact to offer help?
