Shoppers did a double take after spotting this shaggy horned Highland COW charging down the high street.
The massive animal was seen trotting past a post office and through the centre of Minchinhampton near Stroud, Glos.
It past the war memorial, the Crown Inn pub, M&B Stores and the Post Office, dodging traffic and people in the High Street.
The last of the 450 cattle which freely roam Minchinhampton and Rodborough Commons annually from May were taken in at the beginning of November,
A visitor to the town snapped the fine-looking beast in its winter coat outside the Post Office.
“It was quite an incongruous sight,” he said. “We were walking up the main street, then all of a sudden, this cow came running down the road.
”It stopped traffic and people were trying to herd it – it looked a bit confused actually.”
Only five horses and a donkey called Alfie remain on the common this winter, during the day time only.
