Kaiden Singh (8), has been threatened with exlusion from his school if he doesn't take of his Sikh bangle that he worn all of his life. See NTI story NTIBANGLE. A parent has been left ‘gobsmacked’ after a school told his eight-year-old son he would have to remove his religious bangle or face exclusion. Kaiden Singh was told by teachers that he would not be allowed to wear his Kara – a bracelet worn by many Sikhs as a symbol of faith – because of the school’s ban on jewellery. Summer Hill Primary school in Tipton, West Midlands, has come under fire after threatening the eight-year-old with detention and possible exclusion for wearing the Sikh bangle. Kaiden’s family recently moved to the area and picked the school because it seemed the best around. Previous schools have never took issue with Kaiden wearing the Kara so his father, Sunnie, is utterly “gobsmacked and completely shocked” that it has now become a problem.
