Incredible sand sculptures of famous movie figures have received emergency repairs after being severely damaged by frost.
The recent cold snap has frozen intricate sculptures of The Terminator, Freddie Kruger and Jurassic Park, causing giant cracks as they were turned into sandy blocks of ice.
Artists at the annual Sand Sculpture Festival in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, are now frantically carrying out repairs.

Nicola Wood, co-organiser of the project, said: “Of course we prefer to be carving in the glorious sunshine but thankfully our artists also have experience in carving ice so they know what to do.
“They’ll get them back into shape in no time.”
Despite the miserable weather conditions, thousands of visitors braved the cold to visit the festival over Easter.

Project Manager Cindy Lap said: “It’s great to see the artists at work and the public love it. It’s real proof that the sculptures are just sand and water.
“The children especially love to watch the sculptors at work then copy some of their tricks in the workshop area.”
Each sand sculpture takes hundreds of hours to complete, using only sand, water and a number of specialist tools.
